time...

Well time certainly has passed since the last blog entry. As you may know, we are now home and have recuperated from the jet lag, had some quality family time, and entered back into our routine of things. Many of us are still processing and taking everything in from our trip to Ethiopia.

Aside from that, I have resolved I have writer's block. I am not a writer and am not really sure of the definition of writer's block, but I am sure it is what I have. Give me a second... I will google it.

Writer's Block - the condition of being unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing.

Yes. This is my problem. I also googled problems/solutions to writer's block. In one article, I found the following identified problems... I tend to wrestle between the two.

  1. I can't come up with an idea.
  2. I have a ton of ideas but can't commit to any of them, and they all peter out.

So that being said, I should probably stop stalling and start writing. For now, I am going to give three highlights from the trip...

  1. There is nothing like seeing the faces of all the children at Ekklesia and linking them with you! Knowing you are providing financial support for food, education, and the like - meeting the families of these children and hearing their gratitude for what you are doing for them - priceless. I cannot wait for you to meet them - whether in person or in pictures!
  2. The CHC crew as well as the Ekklesia staff - we have by far the BEST people in the world we are working with! Godly men and women who work so diligently to provide support for others with their love and generosity!  Blessed beyond measure to be a part of this!
  3. Sister Almaz (the beautiful woman who started Ekklesia school), is truly one of the most remarkable women I have ever met. Not only does she give her time and love to the children, she pours into the entire community of Sendafa with her support wholeheartedly and selflessly! I listened to her speak through tears about the children who barely have anything to eat. I heard the visions she has for setting up a school for the children and a training facility to help the women in the community. She continues to raise financial support as she seeks to fulfill God's plan. I am honored to be walking alongside and serving with her!

I look forward to sharing more about our trip both here and in our upcoming Open House on Sunday, June 28. Hope to see you then.
